CCL Pharmaceuticals aims to empower communities through education on disease prevention and protection with an increased awareness of protection from diabetes. Thinking Dots focused on adults aged 35 – 55 who used social media to access current and news events to educate and raise awareness on various topics. The digital content showcased were informative segments with renowned local Diabetes care health specialists who conveyed messages regarding the results of excessive sugar consumption. Sugar was compared to a narcotic addiction and the Sugar Wars began. Amongst the digital content, Hasini Ekanayake created educational yet entertaining content while the popular investigative segment ‘Koombiyo’ featured CCTV footage similar to those in evidence. In 12 months, the news segments had reached over 1 million views on social media platforms and Sugar Wars Pakistan was launched after.
